Verified!!! Yahoo IS removing Adult Profile pics?

and I'm sure, soon enough, anything considered "adult" rated.

Here's a the email reply I got:

We have checked your account and it shows that one of your Yahoo! profiles was set to Adult Profile even though your photo was considered 'clean'. If you received our email on 3/26/2008, it was because your profile was marked as "adult", regardless if your photo was "adult" in nature or "clean".

Before, if you have adult material that you'd like to use on your

Yahoo! Profile, you were asked to set up an Adult Profile. This will give you the freedom in choosing the content you'd like to place there.

However, as of 2008/04/09, mature content is no longer permitted within

Yahoo! Profiles. As a result, all photos in profiles marked as "Adult" will be removed. We suggest you to change the status of your adult Yahoo! Profile to a public profile.

Quite a while ago Yahoo anounced that they were going to merge the main Yahoo profiles, the 360掳 pages and Mash into one single service this spring. For good programmers it should be possible to set up a block even for the new service so that minors couldn't enter it. But since it is possible to lie about your age when registering, minors were able to get into every account they wanted to. Also I've seen quite a few 360掳 pages with adult content who weren't marked as adult. I guess it is easier to simply remove all adult content than changing the registering process. I share your concern about the chatrooms and viewing webcams within, because when minors find a way to view adult content on profile pages, they will also find a way to get into chatrooms they aren't supposed to get in. I guess adult content will pretty soon be prohibited in chatrooms too. And I'm afraid that we will have to live with a mostly family oriented site from now on and find ways to post adult content elsewhere.

I am not an adult but yes, there should be an adult community as well as a Teen community where adults cannot access it. In answer to the how will they keep minors something with an Ip address if you answer anywhere that you are under 18 too any kind of registration your IP address will remember that and will keep you out. However there are hacks that can prevent it from remembering.
