Problem with user profile.?

My user profile was originally created on Win 2000, then got Win XP, and the profile downloaded from the network onto the XP machine, would this transfering a profile from win 2000 to xp cause performance problems? (such as speed in accessing network drives)

Do old profiles cause network performance problems?

Do large profiles cause performance problems (other than log in time) ?

Thanks in advance.

Large profiles can slow down the client since it has to transfer the profile to/from the server. Also, old profiles may reference old network shares. This could cause slow downs as the client will try to connect and will wait for the connections to time out.
